Mimo 710-S Monitor
This post is going to focus on the Mimo 710-S Monitor. I just picked one up about 2 weeks ago, and after a little bit of time getting familiar with it, I'd like to officially geek out about it on Matt-Fu.
So the basics. It's a 7 inch lcd with a resolution of 800x480. It is powered and connected via USB 2.0. For this reason you do not require an additional dvi/analog connection on your video card. It is both powered and connected to your computer via USB. Through the drivers supplied with it, your video card will work with it, and instead of piping the video directly via analog/dvi connection, is run through the USB connection. Sorry to drone on about it, but that is in fact one of it's biggest selling points.
Given my current setup, Mimo postulates that 6 of these could be run at one time on my computer. Besides being a cool addition to the rig, this monitor has improved the workflow on screens. Now I have all my gadgets (time, weather, and temp/fan speed monitor) on this screen, as well as skype, ventrillo, active downloads from Firefox, graphics card fan speed controller, and itunes. This mean regardless of what I'm doing or playing, these things are always visible.
This pays off in many ways for me, but mostly in the summer time, where heat becomes a serious problem for me. (No AC, means burnt up computer parts)
The 710-S is a 2nd iteration of the series. The S stands for slider, as is indicative of it's ability to fold flat for transportation. (making it ideal for laptop use)
The screen can be rotated vertically as well.
It should also be mentioned that there is a non slide version which retails for $20 cheaper. (This version going for $149.99) There is also a model that has touch screen capabilities. A very useful feature, which I'm considering possibly for a future monitor purchase. It retails for $199.99.
Support from the company was fantastic as well. I was having some resume issues within vista that turned out to be some under voltage problems. Their responses were prompt and willingly helpful. Within Windows 7 it has ran perfectly. I would highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for more screen real estate. Interested? Check 'em out at:

I've been wanting to get one of these myself, for pretty much the same reason, for widgets and skype and such... It would be perfect for Tweetdeck!
